It's time to fulfill a long-time crafting dream of mine of putting together a doll house. At Christmas, a good friend of mine gave me a house that was already put together. All I have to do is paint, decorate, and furnish and I can't wait!! I am also going to take you on the ride as I journal my progress with the materials used, time and money spent, and hiccups experienced.
My overall theme of the house is going to be beach/seaside/nautical, etc. The goal is to create the furniture and accessories myself using fabric and paper, scraps, foam board, craft sticks, and other odds and ends. And for items I can't make, find them at thrift stores and bargain bins. In other words, the goal is to keep it cheap!
Day 1: One hour was spent cutting and laying "wood floorboards" in the bedroom. One package of craft sticks from the Dollar Tree was used. Using basic household scissors, I cut off the rounded edge of each stick and laid them out in a staggard haphazard pattern. The sticks still have to be glued down, sanded, and then painted but that will be another day.
This is a small start to a very large project, but I am excited to get it going. I would love your input as this house is put together so feel free to leave a comment. Please be respectful as I know my work will not be perfect. LOL! Have a creative day!
